GlowTheory is an independent beauty education publication created by Jenna Abney in Redmond, Oregon. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit glowtheory.beauty, why, and what choices you have.
The short version: GlowTheory does not sell your personal information, does not run advertising trackers, and collects only what is needed to run the site and respond to you.
Information You Choose to Share
When you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, the topic you select, and your message. This information is used to read and respond to your message, and occasionally to inform future articles. It is not added to a mailing list without your permission.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, glowtheory.beauty uses a small number of services that receive technical information when you visit:
- Site statistics (Jetpack Stats by Automattic): page views and general visit information, used to understand which articles are useful. Reports are aggregated and are not used to identify you personally.
- Spam protection (Akismet by Automattic): contact form submissions may be checked for spam, which involves sending the submission and technical details such as IP address and browser information to Akismet.
- Fonts (Google Fonts): some typefaces load from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information in order to deliver the font files.
- Hosting and security: our hosting provider and WordPress may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and performance.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. GlowTheory uses essential cookies to remember your cookie choices and keep the site working. You can review details and change your preferences in the Cookie Policy or through the cookie banner.
Links, Sharing Buttons, and Social Media
Articles include sharing buttons and links to other websites, including social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which apply once you click through to them.
How Information Is Used

How Long Information Is Kept
Contact messages are kept only as long as they are useful for responding, recordkeeping, or improving content, and are deleted when no longer needed. Statistics are kept in aggregated form.

You can ask to see, correct, or delete personal information you have shared with GlowTheory by reaching out through the Contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law; requests will be honored as required.
Children’s Privacy
GlowTheory is written for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

This policy may be updated as the site grows—for example, if a newsletter is added. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any changes.
